Child Carpet Workers, India, 2002

A loomowner sleeps off a hangover while his carpet slaves sit in a dirt pit for 18-hour days, knotting carpets. Their eyesight is damaged, fingers and spines deformed, and most are severely ill by the time they reach adulthood. The US imports $140 million in rugs from India every year.
